How Does It Work?

SoftWave Therapy uses acoustic (sound) waves sent through the body at a high speed of just under 3500 miles per hour. Your brain reacts by sending your own repair cells to the area to address damage. These cells are always present in the body, ready to travel anywhere they’re needed. We simply jump-start this healing process. Unlike many traditional radial shockwave systems, SoftWave is broad-focused, reaching a wider area at greater depth. However, it’s like what somebody might feel from a deep tissue massage.

How many sessions are needed?

For acute issues, such as an injury, 4-6 treatments. For a chronic issue, 8-10 sessions are usually needed. Then for maintenance care, patients usually come in 2-4 times a year.

Is it safe, and are there any side effects?

The therapy is safe. On the initial treatment, you may experience some stiffness and an increase in pain or discomfort for about 24 hours.

Is there anyone who can’t have the therapy?

Those with pacemakers can’t have the therapy. It can’t be done if you’ve had a cortisone shot within 21 days, or if you’re on blood thinners.

How much will my care cost?

It depends on your condition. The cost of therapy can range from $500 to about $1,500 for a package.

Is SoftWave covered by insurance?

It is not something insurances offer coverage for.
